Resumen

O Comprometimento Cognitivo Leve amnésico (CCLa) é a fase prodrômica da Doença de Alzheimer (DA). Embora as habilidades visuoespaciais (HVs) estejam comprometidas em vários tipos de demências, pouco se sabe sobre como essa função é afetada no CCLa. A Bateria para Habilidades Visuoespaciais (BVA) avalia vários aspectos das HVs por meio de oito subtestes, enquanto busca manter a mínima interferência de outras funções cognitivas. A BVA inclui a mensuração da Percepção Espacial (PE), a qual se caracteriza por tarefas mais elementares, que exigem o mínimo possível de demais processos cognitivos e ainda, a mensuração do Pensamento Espacial (PsE), o qual demanda habilidades mais complexas que requerem integração e manipulação da informação espacial. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar as HVs de adultos maiores com CCLa e verificar quais aspectos dessa função são afetados pela condição. Doze participantes (60-90 anos) com CCLa e treze (60-84 anos) cognitivamente saudáveis (grupo saudável - GS) passaram por uma avaliação neuropsicológica, a qual incluiu a aplicação da BVA. Quando comparados ao GS, os participantes com CCLa tiveram desempenho significativamente menor em dois subtestes que examinam a PE (orientação da linha e posição dos pontos) e todos os subtestes que examinam o PsE (rotação mental, figura complexa, figura escondida e construção mental). Em conclusão, os resultados do presente estudo sugerem que as HVs parecem estar comprometidas em pacientes com CCLa, sendo o subdomínio de PsE foi o mais afetado. Portanto, recomenda-se que o PsE seja avaliado para detectar de forma precoce essa condição.
